I just need to vent

Mr. President I find it truly disgusting that you our president sat on your ass and did nothing about Hurricane Ketrina sooner. Mr. President you failed the American People.

How do you sleep at night?! Knowing that people are / were dieing of starvation with no water no sanitary conditions. Then you sit in your oval office and say looting will not be tolerated. What audacity you have, good god you’re treating your own people as if they were dogs on the street. I say who cares about the looting? I mean sure their taking televisions, DVD players etc.. But do you think they can take this stuff with them on the bus or when their air lifted up into a helicopter.

Companies have already written this stuff off as a loss. Besides if people were arrested where do you plan on putting them? If you start having people arrested and put in jail than even more people will start looting. Ask you self this would you want to be sitting in the superdome where people are slowly dieing around you or would you be tempted to get caught steeling. Where you are given a ride to some dry place served a warm meal and have clean cloths not to mention a bathroom.. THINK ABOUT IT! The search to find missing and injured people should not stop.

Don’t get me wrong I hate seeing the looting and I don’t condone it in anyway. Looters only make the United State’s people look like a bunch of degenerates with no integrity or morals. The only type of looting I would approve of is things like food, water dippers for your kids that sort of thing.

I only hope the international community realizes that what you see on your televisions is not how the majority of America are. Please don’t judge us by some bad people president included because we truly are good people and there are a lot of good people down in the Gulf region.

Am I off base here? comments welcome…

You and your liberal buddies killed your 40 y/o strong community of WARDS of the WELFARE State not George Bush.

You are sadly wrong on all count. It seems in REALITY where REGULAR FOLKS are forced to live, work, pay bills, take care of their own needs, pay taxes to keep your wards voting democratic and die; that had the ENVIORNMENTAL WACK JOBS not sued i.e. 1970 to protect the wetlands a huge protecting leveee would have been built.

Quote
The very day he spoke a congressional task force reported that the levees that failed in New Orleans would have been raised higher and strengthened in 1996 by the Army Corps of Engineers were it not for a lawsuit filed by environmentalist led by who else but the Sierra Club. Among those "leaders of our country" to "be held accountable" for the flooding of New Orleans, would Al include the Sierra Club? How about the Save the Wetlands stalwarts? According to a recent report in the Los Angeles Times, a 1977 lawsuit filed by Save the Wetlands stopped a congressionally funded plan to protect New Orleans with a "massive hurricane barrier." A judge found that New Orleans' hurricane barrier would have to wait until the Army Corps of Engineers filed a better environmental-impact statement.

Now, because those who would have improved hurricane protection in New Orleans were prevented by the environmentalist rigorists, the wetlands are polluted and imperiled and New Orleans has suffered the damage that practical minds have been trying to prevent for three decades. What has thwarted them are the Al Gores of the environmental movement and a well-intentioned piece of legislation that has become a major stumbling block to improving the nation's infrastructure and energy production, the National Environmental Policy Act of 1970 (NEPA).
